• Initial consultation & scanning your mouth – To begin the process, Dr. Kirkegaard will examine your mouth to make sure you’re a good candidate for SureSmile. Then, he’ll scan your mouth with a hand-held 3D scanner and upload this information to a computer.
• Developing your treatment plan – Dr. Kirkegaard will calculate your optimal bite and tooth position and create a treatment plan to move your teeth into the proper position using SureSmile.
• 3D Printing & aligners – At your next appointment, Dr. Kirkegaard will print out your first several sets of SureSmile models and make the aligners. Everything will be made quickly, allowing you to start straightening your teeth right away.
• Checkups & new sets of aligners – About every 4-6 weeks, you’ll come back to The Art of Dentistry to get a quick checkup as well as a few new sets of aligners, which will be built right in our office for your convenience.
